Timber frame insulation panels for building renovation
System Architecture & Technical Specifications
Our prefabricated 2D timber insulation panels are engineered specifically for the deep thermal retrofitting of existing building envelopes. The system is based on an Engineered Wood Products (EWP) framework that optimizes both structural stability and thermal resistance.
Thermal Performance & Regulatory Compliance The standalone prefabricated panel achieves a base thermal transmittance U-value of 0.166 W/(m²·K).
This thermal performance significantly exceeds the national building code requirements for envelope renovations. According to the LBN 002-19 standard, the maximum permitted U-value for renovated exterior walls is 0.23 W/(m²·K). Our timber panel system surpasses this mandatory regulatory threshold with a substantial margin, even before accounting for the thermal resistance of the existing host wall.
Engineering & Operational Advantages
Thermal Bridge Reduction: The engineered wood framework effectively minimizes linear thermal bridging, outperforming standard solid timber studs by significantly reducing heat transfer through the structural ribs.
Dimensional Stability: The EWP construction eliminates the risk of timber warping or shrinkage due to moisture fluctuations, guaranteeing long-term joint airtightness and preventing facade deformation over the building’s lifecycle.
Dry & Rapid Assembly: Designed for off-site manufacturing (DfMA), the flat-pack panels allow for a 100% dry, mechanical installation. This bypasses the weather dependencies and extended curing times associated with traditional wet plaster (ETICS) systems, ensuring predictable project timelines.
